In May 2019 Leicestershire Law Society held their Annual General meeting at Provincial House, New Walk and after a review of the year from exiting President Bushra Ali, the meeting saw the official inauguration of Glynis Wright, of Glynis Wright and Co.
Glynis will hold the office as President for one year (2019-2020), during which time she will be the public face of the organisation.
Glynis Wright is the founder of Glynis Wright & Co and is the Head of Practice. Glynis decided to retrain as a lawyer when she was nearly 40. Prior to that, she had pursued a successful career in local government, most latterly in the field of economic development. Read more about Glynis Wright and Co. here.
Glynis has some exciting plans to support the society in maintaining its excellent reputation.
The next event to look out for is:
1st November – 100 Years of Women in Law
Glynis has chosen Alex’s Wish to be the LLS Charity of the year.
Alex’s Wish is a charity set-up to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born and results in progressive muscle wasting.
Glynis’s first event as president, the Summer Garden Party, was such a success that she made a bumper donation to Alex’s Wish of £712.50, and there will be plenty more opportunities to raise money throughout her presidential year.
