Bushra Ali is the Founder of Bushra Ali Solicitors where she is the Sole Director, leading a Firm specialising in UK Immigration Law. Having initially qualified as a barrister, she subsequently cross-qualified as a solicitor. She is accredited at Senior and Supervisory level under the Immigration Asylum Accreditation Scheme. Bushra is on the membership sub-board at the Leicestershire Law Society (LLS). She was winner of the LLS Solicitor of the Year award both in 2012 and 2016. She is now Vice-president of the LLS.
Mehmooda took up office as President of Leicestershire Law Society on 21st May 2015. She has, for the last few years been an active and vibrant member of the LLS, supporting the local legal profession and promoting the region as a centre of legal excellence.
Glynis Wright is the founder and sole Director of Glynis Wright & Co Solicitors who are a Leicester based legal practice specialising exclusively in family law matters. Glynis retrained in law at the age of 42, was made a partner in a local firm of solicitors 3 years after qualifying as a solicitor and then 3 years on again she set up her own specialist legal practice. The practice has grown very fast and now employs 8 specialist family lawyers. In 2015, the practice won Law Firm of the Year 2015 as well as Best Professional Services and Glynis herself is an award winning lawyer. Glynis is the Deputy Vice President of the Leicestershire Law Society and she serves on the Patrons Sub Board. She is also a Trustee of the Learning without Limits Academy which is a not for profit educational academy incorporating 4 local schools. She is also highly active on behalf of a number of Charities including Soft Touch Arts and Alex’s Wish.
Jonathan is a Partner at Emery Johnson Astills and specialises in Family Law and has been an active member of the committee of the Leicestershire Law Society for many years and chaired the Events Sub-Board.
Matthew qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Nelsons in 2000. Matthew specialises in medical negligence claims and inquests. At the Society Matthew is responsible for over seeing all the finances.
Kauser is responsible for running the society, looking after the activities of the Society, including organising events/ courses, looking after finance and membership, dealing with sponsorship, patronage, marketing and volunteer management along with other areas.
Simone is the only person employed by the society and has the key role to manage all volunteers, and to make sure all works are in line with the Strategic Business Plan and within budget.
